Bhubaneswar,Ahead of Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia’s visit to the communal sensitive Phulbani district on February 28, the Mulnivasi Manch on Wednesday demanded that the State Government impose a ban on the hate speeches of the VHP leader.
The Manch in a Press release alleged that despite the prevailing volatile situation due to series of communal clashes in Kandhamal, Gajapati, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack districts and mostly minority habitations in the State, Togadia is being allowed to make provocative speeches in different parts of the State.
“His speech carries a great threat to communal peace and harmony in Odisha at any time and because of this his entry into Kandhamal was restricted in 2009 and recently he is restricted to Bengaluru and Guwahati,” stated the Press release.
Demanding that the Government must impose a ban on Togadia delivering hate speeches in any parts of the State, Manch convenor Rajeev Lochan Rathan urged the State Government to ensure no such speech with distorted facts which would only affect the communal harmony.
